Cookie policy
Every cookie this site sets, what it is for, and how to change your choice.
SKELETON. Replace bracketed values before going live.
What cookies are
Small files a site stores on your device. Some are needed to make the site work; the rest we only use if you agree.
Your choice
Strictly necessary cookies are always on — without them you cannot sign in and the site cannot remember your language. Everything else is off until you turn it on, and you can change your mind at any time through Cookie preferences in the page footer, or on this page. Refusing costs you nothing but measurement.
Your choice is stored in a cookie called consent for six months, after which
we ask again. It records the date you decided, which is how we can show that
consent was given.
What we set
The tables below are generated from the same registry the site itself uses, so they cannot fall out of date.
Strictly necessary — first-party cookies, shown in the table as This
site. session and signed_in keep you signed in, and exist only for people who
sign in; locale remembers your language; consent stores
this choice; password_reset_session, email_verification,
google_oauth_state, google_code_verifier, auth_redirect,
oauth_link_user_id, 2fa_challenge and email_login each carry one step of
signing in; last_auth_method remembers which sign-in method you used last so
it can be highlighted next time; cms_preview lets an editor preview
unpublished content.
Analytics — only with your consent. Google Ireland Limited provides Google
Tag Manager, which loads the measurement tags from www.googletagmanager.com
and sets no cookie itself, and Google Analytics, which sets _ga and
_ga_XXXXXXXXXX [named after our measurement id]. Functional Software, Inc.
(Sentry) records sentryReplaySession to replay a session in which an error
occurred.
Advertising — only with your consent. Google Ireland Limited sets
_gcl_au, _gcl_aw and _gcl_dc to measure advertising.
Managing cookies in your browser
You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking the strictly necessary ones will break signing in.
